Although SHAR Inc. has had a long history of serving both men and women at its Main facility, the decision was made in 1991 to focus on the creation of specialized services for women and their children.  For two years the agency sought grants and support from local funding resources.  In 1993 the dream was realized and the first women moved into our facility affectionately known as SHAR East located on the campus of the St. Elizabeth church. <more>
